In the community development scheme every legislature member has to execute a small scheme and each member was provided a budget of 50lakh per year by the concerned department which will be implemented in the development of the rural areas. The legislature memberhave to choice a best scheme for that area and use it in the benefit of the rural areas and the rural community. A community development block covers several gram panchayats, local administrative unit at the village level.
The community development programme was launched to provide for a substantial increase in the country’s agricultural programme, and for improvements in systems of communication, in rural health and hygiene, and in rural education so that we can help the people in rural areas to live a good and independent life.
This will lead to development of our state as well as our country and it aim is also to initiate and direct a process of integrated culture change aimed at changing the social and economic life of villagers. For each community project, as at present planned, there will be approximately 300 - villages with a total area of about 450 to 500. square miles, a cultivated area of about 150,000 acres and a population of about 200,000. So this is the most appropriate step of government to interact with people in rural areas and to solve their problem.
